By accessing or using Gurukul Student ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including students, learners, and the parents or guardians who set up or supervise a learner's account. Where your school provides the Service to you under a separate arrangement, that arrangement applies alongside these Terms.

Some features of the Service, such as AI tutoring, run on credits. By purchasing or using credits:
If your account is paid for or topped up by a parent, guardian, or school, that party is responsible for the associated charges.
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality - including AI tutoring tools, quizzes, study material, design, and branding - are owned by Gurukul and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your own personal learning.
The work you create or submit through the Service - your notes, answers, and study activity - remains yours. Your academic records belong to you and your school, not to Gurukul. You grant us the limited permissions needed to host, process, and display your content so we can operate the Service for you.
Gurukul processes your learning data securely, with encryption in transit and at rest, and shares it only with your school and linked guardians as described in our Privacy Policy at /privacypolicy. We never claim ownership of your learning, and we never sell it.
We work hard to keep the Service available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. Where practical, we will schedule planned maintenance outside core study hours and provide advance notice.
We provide support through the contact channels listed in these Terms and aim to respond to issues promptly.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
AI tutoring responses from Vidya are generated to support your learning and may contain errors or be incomplete. You should not rely on them as a sole source of truth, and you should always check important answers against your textbooks, teachers, and official school materials. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gurukul shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for credits or paid features in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gurukul, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
This obligation survives the termination of your account and your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, without prior notice, for:
Upon termination, your right to use the Service stops immediately. Your data will be handled in accordance with the retention provisions of our Privacy Policy, including a window to export your data before deletion.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service before they take effect.
